CONFESSIONS OF A MASCULINE

Let me confess our collective insanity !!

We have decided to remain insane

so as to justify our “Insensitivity”

towards “THEIR” voices of grief and resistance.

I feel guilty for being a party

to this notorious consensus to remain silent .

I feel guilty for not having enough courage

To revolt against “The Empire of Pervert Masculinity”.

I feel guilty for being a party

to the consensus to carry on this glorious tradition

of

“Subjugation”,

“Suppression”

and

“Harassment”

for eternity.

How long it will take us to understand

That our sisters, mothers and friends

share the same sky and earth, the same space and place

with same dignity and respect and with same rights and duties ,

which we claim to be our exclusive privilege.

How long !!!

we will continue to remain “Barbarians”,

We have denied

“THEM”

Their share in public space

and moreover

we have denied

Them their share in Time,

in History,

in Knowledge,

in Art

and even in all manifestations of

human activity ,

creativity,

progress

and

development.

A notorious and conscious neglect is evident everywhere.

We want a “Gender Curfew” to be imposed everywhere,

because

we are not ready to do away our primitive animal instincts.

Our claims of being epitome of nobility and morality

are reduced to a

“Myth”

when it comes to the reality of streets,

towns and markets ,

where

an assault of “Masculinity” is always on display.

We have failed our values, morality, religion and laws .

I have made my confessions !!!

I have decided to rediscover a civilized way to

assert and adjust

with

my “Masculinity”

so that I could face “THEM”.

Now , it is your turn to come ahead………………..

(This text was written by me ,in defence of Farah. Farah, a female student activist from Aligarh Muslim university was harrassed by some evil elements in the campus and no one came ahead to lend support for her and she had to escape in exile .)
